Levels of Trust

Acknowledgment Level

In this level of trust, we first have to acknowledge who God is and who He is to us in our lives. By having this acknowledgment one is opening themselves to a world of understanding of what God has in store for them.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart ; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

We have to give God the acknowledgment that we understand that our life is not our own, but through Him we are able to make it in life for He has our life in our hands. We have to trust Him and that starts by the acknowledgment of who God IS! And the paths he want us to go down.

Seeking Level

In this level of trust we have to seek out, through prayer and communication with God, to obtain what God has for us. By doing so we are not only getting on the right path but it shows one is trusting God for more than just acknowledgement. It shows the deepness one wants to get to know what God wants from them.

By seeking, you are having the attempt and desire to obtain the path God has for you. You are no longer acknowledging the path God has, but now seeking to go down that path.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighted in his way.” Psalms 37:23

We have to seek these steps from God for He already knows the path(s) we should take.

Association Level

In this level, one now has a stronger connection with God and has done the necessary things needed to continue down the right path. One no longer sees differently than what God sees and is able to make the connection to line up with what God sees.

“And He said, 'Come'. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried, saying, 'Lord, save me.'” Matthew 14:29-30

Association means to have a connection or cooperative link between people and organizations. Peter had a connection with God that allowed him to have a clear path of walking on water. Because he took his mind off of the goal, and was distracted by what was around him, he started to sink. When in this level, we have to have a link with God to be able to see what He sees and understand it. Peter had the same connection and goal God had which allowed him to walk on water. Our association has to be strong so we can walk the path God wants us to.

Dependence Level

Once we have gotten the acknowledgement of who God is, sought after the path He wants us to take, and gained a greater connection with Him, we are then able to become dependent on what He wants us to do.

“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” Ephesians 1:11

God already knows what path is the right path we should take in our lives. We then have to go down a path lead by God knowing that the path we are on is the right path.
